The Advanced Science and Technology Education Charter Schools (ASTEC), is a free PreK-12th grade public school open to all. ASTEC was founded by Dr. Freda Deskin in 2000 as the first start-up charter school in Oklahoma.


ASTEC integrates technology into a liberal arts curriculum focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.). ASTEC actively teaches and emphasizes the values of character, manners, proper etiquette, social and cultural awareness, a strong work ethic, and entrepreneurship.


Excellence, accountability, and the safety and academics of our scholars are a priority. Mutual respect is expected and seen throughout the school by the teachers, administrators, and support staff.

ASTEC Charter Schools is accepting new student applications for the 2023-24 school year. Applications are considered on a first-come-first-served basis.
