Computer Programming (HS Tech)

Computer Programming offers an introduction to computer science and programming basics. Scholars work through a series of projects using CS Discoveries on code.org that teach research strategies while exploring technology. The material emphasizes computational thinking and helps develop the ability to solve complex problems. It gives a foundation for the tools used in computer science. Classwork consists of daily programming exercises, longer coding assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams. Participation in group projects such as website design and graphics is required.

Business Essentials

Business Computer Applications help scholars develop skills in intermediate and advanced word processing, spreadsheets, multimedia presentations, database management, and desktop publishing. Scholars work through projects using Applied Education Systems (AES) that teach business strategies while exploring technology. Scholars produce letters, reports, newsletters, brochures, flyers, notices, charts, graphs, and other materials beneficial for personal and business uses. Scholars will develop a thorough understanding of Google applications and experience presenting and speaking in front of the class.
