The ASTEC Elementary School music teacher, Ms. Alicja Marzec, lost everything in a house fire over the holidays. Thankfully, Ms. Marzec, her husband, and their one-year-old son were not hurt, but the fire was a devastating loss for this young family.
The family had renters insurance and were about to close on their first home, but insurance claims take time to process and administer.
According to her headmaster, Ms. Lisa Day, "Ms. Marzec goes above and beyond at ASTEC Elementary. This first-year teacher is always on time, often stays late, and does everything possible to help her scholars learn and grow."
Many people in the ASTEC community asked what they could do for this family.
To help them out in the short term and make donated dollars go further, an ASTEC tax-free Target account has been created. Below are a few items on Ms. Marzec’s Target wish list.
If you would like to support this family, please donate an amount for one of the items and note in the check memo line "Marzec - (describe the item you want to give money for)." ASTEC will then purchase these items and have them shipped to Ms. Marzec's new home. If you are donating via PayPal you can email [email protected] and specify the item you want to purchase for the family.
Any amount is appreciated. Donations with no specific gift mentioned will be pooled together to buy items on the list or to purchase gift cards so the family can purchase items independently.
